Their Use Case

We met Little Journey in 2020 during the pandemic period. Little Journey was already seeing some early investment success and interest from UK hospitals with their mobile application designed to help support children going through medical procedures by providing an engaging and informative experience. Great things were on the horizon for Little Journey and they needed help getting their technology planning, strategy, and infrastructure ready for the next level of scale they were about to achieve. The core executive team didn’t have technologists with experience that could guide them from being a start-up to a small business.

Our Solution

We signed on with Little Journey to fill that experience gap they needed. Our team deployed the strategy and advice services to give Little Journey what it needed at that particular juncture of the company’s development.

Specifically, we provided the following services for Little Journey:

  • The planning and design of infrastructure, hosting, and next-generation application platform

  • Keeping ahead of the technology curve, introducing and driving team awareness of new technology opportunities and solutions

  • Management of technology investment and development budget

  • Working with the design team to deliver products and feedback on practicality, feasibility & usability

  • Attending Board of Directors meetings

  • Provision of experts with key skills at the right time including, software architect, infrastructure consultant, business analyst, DevOps engineer, IT support engineer, quality assurance engineer

The Results

The engagement with Little Journey was a great success. Little Journey got the technology leadership and experience that they needed without having to give up equity in their business and all at a cost much less than a senior technologist hire.

We eventually helped Little Journey rearchitect their technology infrastructure and we continued to help them in a reduced capacity for a long period for ensured stability and handover. When they were ready to have their own Chief Technology Officer we reduced our presence but still continued to provide support services and be available to give a second opinion on technology scenarios.
